A Tribute to the 31St Grand National Paso Fino Horse Show
On the final night of the 31st Grand National Paso Fino Horse Show, an enthusiastic
audience watched the festivity of the closing flag ceremony. The first horse to enter
the arena and lead the ceremony was Reflejo El Classico, the magnificent son of Classico
and grandson of Plebeyo. The splendid fino stallion proudly carried Miss Clarissa Schwartz,
the 2003 Gold Medal Equitation Grand National Champion and Paso Fino Horse Association
Youth of the Year.
Under the steady hands of Clarissa, Reflejo El Classico regally circled the arena with
the Paso Fino Horse Association flag held high. With brio and grace he crossed the fino
board in perfect collection and gait. He then waited with stately dignity and never moved
a muscle, as tribute was paid to the celebrated flags of several countries, including the
United States of America.
At the conclusion of the “The Star Spangled Banner,” and during the thunderous ovation
of the crowd, Refejo El Classico circled the arena with stated elegance. Once again Relejo
El Classico paid tribute to the 31st Grand National Paso Fino Horse Show by brilliantly
and beautifully displaying the association flag. As the flag was thrust higher and higher
while flowing freely and proudly in the air, Reflejo El Classico closed the ceremony by
leading the flags out of the arena.
